Animation
This class is an introduction to the 3D animation software Maya.
This animation program would be useful for those planning a career
in graphic design, animation, autoCAD, architecture,
or real estate. This program creates
convincing visual simulations of rigid and soft body objects interacting in the
physical world. Maya also provides a range
of tools that allow the rendering of animated 3D scenes which achieve
photorealistic imagery and animated visual effects.
Course prerequisite:
Graphic Design and/or Advanced Computers
Objectives:
The student will be able to:
ANI-1 Use the tools and icons of the software
program
ANI-2 Manipulate layers (interactive photorealism renderer) which use light/texture and shaders
ANI-3 Apply dynamics, photorealism, accuracy,
particles and paint effects (examples: bubbles, plants moving, texture and
reflection of images)
ANI-4 Use the interface to access features, operate
tools and editors
ANI-5 Use the keyframe
to assign items in a specific time to translate, rotate, scale, color, etc.
ANI-6 Use frame to have clips play back in rapid
succession to provide the illusion of motion (time-range, slider/playback
controls, graphic editor).
